The Faculty of Maritime Management aims to provide training on basic business administration and governance in maritime issues. The Faculty is offering educational opportunities to many students coming from different countries.
Profile of the Program
The objectives of the Maritime Management Program are to give knowledge, skills necessary for all areas of the Maritime Management profession. They learn about ethical values, new global visions and lifelong learning. The program also aims to carry out effective scientific researches and develop projects in the maritime management discipline and related fields. We offer an education policy of both theoretical and practical-intended courses where students are given Economic Administration, Law, Basic and Professional Maritime Studies, Maritime Business, Logistics and Transportation courses. The assignment, project and laboratory studies in these courses help the transfer of theory into practice.
This program provides training and consulting services, for developing projects useful to the maritime industries. Education is given in the 7 classrooms and 2 laboratories including Computer and Management Simulations. There is also both wired and wireless network connection as well as a library available for all students and instructors in the department.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples
Graduates of Maritime Management are employed in a wide range of positions in both private and public sectors. They can obtain mid and top level positions in the ship-owner/operators, ship management companies, transportation intermediaries (ship agents, ship brokers, freight forwarders), ship chandler and suppliers, marine insurance companies, ports and terminals, yachts and marine companies, shipyards, banks, foreign trade companies, logistics companies etc. In the public sector, our graduates can be employed at administrative positions at the Ministry of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications, and other related ministry offices or public institutions.

Specific Arrangements for Recognition of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The regulations for transfer of credits for students who wish to register from other equivalent programs are fixed by the Senate of the University of Kyrenia and our Faculty.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
In order to graduate, students must successfully complete all the courses in the curriculum with a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and an overall grade point average of at least 2.00/4.00, also successfully completed the compulsory internships on Maritime Management and Administration for a period of 30 days and the graduation project.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
With respect to exams and course achievement grades, the related articles of the University of Kyrenia and the Maritime Management and Administration Faculty are applied. Lowest acceptable passing grade for a course is DD (conditional) and the graduation grade should be CC.
Evaluation and assessment methods for each course included in the information package are defined in the Course Description Form prepared by the related lecturer/faculty member. Attendance is obligatory and the absences for health reasons have to be approved by a recognized health authority.
Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully complete all of the courses in the four-year program in order to graduate. The final B.Sc. degree is given to students who have passed all courses with a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and obtained an overall grade point average of at least 2.00 / 4.00, and successfully completed the compulsory internships and the graduation project.
